ARTISTIC RESILIENCE IN TIMES OF…
Eine Residenz für 20 deutsche und ukrainische Künstler:innen findet vom 20. Juni bis zum 7. Juli 2022 im digitalen Raum statt. Die Werkstattarbeit wird anschließend in der Schaubühne Lindenfels in Leipzig, in der Lettrétage in Berlin sowie dem Videofensterprojekt Köln gezeigt.
Von welch enormer Relevanz die in Pandemiezeiten erlernten Kompetenzen zur digitalen künstlerischen Zusammenarbeit sind, wurde uns am 24. Februar dieses Jahres schmerzhaft bewusst: Kolleg:innen aus der Ukraine sind vor dem Krieg geflohen oder harren noch in umkämpften Gebieten, der Faden zu ihnen darf gerade jetzt nicht abreißen.
Dafür hat ein Zusammenschluss aus drei Kuratorinnen und Organisatorinnen aus den Bereichen Bildende Kunst, Darstellende Kunst und Literatur aus Leipzig ein internationales Artist Lab ins Leben gerufen, das sich mit der Kunst in Kriegszeiten auseinandersetzt und über digitale Residenzen Austausch- und Vernetzungsmöglichkeiten schafft. 20 Künstler:innen aus Deutschland und der Ukraine werden während der dreiwöchigen digitalen Residenz gemeinsame Praktiken der kollektiven Autor:innenschaft austesten und solidarische Perspektiven entwickeln. Darüber hinaus bieten vier Keynote-Speaker:innen aus Kurdistan, Kosovo, Kroatien und Belarus Einblicke in ihre künstlerischen Strategien und Praxen in Zeiten von Krisen und Kriegen. Wie Namenloses, Ungewisses, Widersprüchliches und Unverständliches aushalten? Wie gemeinsame Formen finden, für Angst, Wut und Trauer? Und wie daraus Handlungen bewahren für eine lohnenswerte Zukunft?

A residency for German and Ukrainian artists will take place in digital space from 20-06 to 07-07. The workshop work will then be shown at the Schaubühne Lindenfels in Leipzig, the Lettrétage in Berlin and the Videofensterprojekt Cologne.
On 24 February of this year, we became painfully aware of the enormous relevance of the skills for digital artistic collaboration learned in times of pandemic: colleagues from Ukraine have fled the war or are still waiting in contested areas, and the thread to them must not be broken now.
For this reason, we - an association of three curators and organisers from the fields of visual arts, performing arts and literature from Leipzig - have created an international Artist Lab, which deals with art in times of war and creates opportunities for exchange and networking through digital residencies. During the three-week digital residency, 20 artists from Germany and Ukraine will test joint practices of collective authorship and develop perspectives of solidarity. In addition, four keynote speakers from Kurdistan, Kosovo, Croatia and Belarus will offer insights into their artistic strategies and practices in times of crisis and war. How to endure the nameless, the uncertain, the contradictory and the incomprehensible? How to find common forms for fear, anger and grief? And how to preserve actions for a worthwhile future?
