Bobby Fisher – Herausforderer gegen Boris Spasskij konnte sich als legendärer Schachspieler hervortun und schließlich den Weltmeistertitel holen.
Bereits 1960 gewann Bobby Fischer mit gerade einmal 17 Jahren seine erste Schacholympiade in Leipzig. Dabei setzte er sich als absoluter Außenseiter gegen das Aufgebot großer Schach-Stars durch.

The 1972 World Chess Championship became known even beyond the chess world as the Match of the Century. In the midst of the Cold War, the duel became especially symbolically charged. Bobby Fisher - challenger against Boris Spassky was able to stand out as a legendary chess player and finally win the world title.
As early as 1960, Bobby Fisher won his first Chess Olympiad in Leipzig at the age of just 17. In the process, he prevailed as an absolute outsider against the lineup of great chess stars.
