The Video Synthesizer. Exploring a Lost History of Electronic Animation
Der Videosynthesizer – ein Gerät zum Erzeugen und Verändern von Videobildern – hat seit seiner Erfindung in den 1950er Jahren viele Phasen durchlaufen. An einem Abend mit Filmen, Gesprächen und einer Performances tauchen wir ein in diese wenig bekannte Geschichte des Bewegtbilds und erkunden den Videosynthesizer als Werkzeug für zeitgenössische visuelle Experimente.
Engl. The video synthesizer, a piano for making and manipulating moving images, has gone through many phases since its inception in the 1950s. Through an evening of film, talks and live audio/visual performance, we will dive into this little known field of moving image history and explore the video synth as a tool for contemporary visual experimentation.
